Cappy is on the road!

So the new digs are all set up... got the play areas, the golf balls, fuzzy discs, etc., all in their right spots - and guess what? We pack up and head for HOURS and HOURS in the truck. Yes, I travel! Not too bad either. Yep, I put up a bit of a stink to start - with the new carrier, all the sounds, vibrations, etc.

So, I spent most of the time sleeping... yeah, I'm a kitten. That is what I do. I got to watch the cars as we passed them. That was cool. Too bad we have such dark tinting on the windows, otherwise I would have waved to all those people. The trip to the L.A. area was really not bad. We stopped for some food, some gas and a well needed bio break.

We stayed at my extended family's house. Us cats have HUGE extended families, so I probably have a place to stay anywhere I want to go - but more on that at a later date. So, I'm hanging in kitty playground. There is lots of stuff to play with around here. My two favorites are a ping pong ball and these strange Nerf missiles.

The big guy loads up ten or so and shoots them around me from across the room. I of course get to attack - all claws and teeth at any that I can get my paws on. Lots and lots of fun.

We had a big (and I mean BIG) Thanksgiving meal around here. There must have been a dozen kids. So I got a lot of playing & socializing in. So much that I am pooped! The nap on the big guy was good, but not nearly long enough. So, I'm going to cut the chat short as I have got to get my beauty sleep. But before I do, I want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving.

Vacation... Decisions, Decisions

I of course could also forgo the lazy fire and use this contraption. It is called an 'elliptical exerciser.' That sounds like a long and complicated name for a clothes hanger. I'm just kidding... they don't hang any clothes on it, but it is fun to climb and jump around.

I think I will pass on the heavy machinery, and instead do my exercise using my fuzzy disk, the golf balls and my newest toy - a plain old balled up paper towel.

I also got a new play house today! It is really interesting because as I grow, it can also be added on with new modules. There are a ton of different types of additions. From platforms, toys, more scratching posts, slides, etc. I can't wait to see when the next one arrives. I have visions of a giant play structure with bridges, zip lines and maybe even a wet bar with whole, half & half and cream on tap. (Oh a kitty can dream can't he?)

Football on Sunday - A PET?!?!?!

I watched three football games today and I have to say that this Sunday football stuff is rather strange. Why do these huge guys fight over one small ball? How about they just give each one a bag of catnip and call it a day? That way there would be fewer guys getting hurt.

Such an early Sunday start is something unusual around here - we do like our sleep in the mornings after being up late last night, but the pots and pans were clanging way early this morning. During the local team's game (SF 49rs for anyone who wants to know) the kitchen was a beehive of activity. Quite a bit of cooking and once it was done - gone! Two BIG pans of Shells & Cheese, one with veggies (huh?) Well both were safely put away for another day.

Next came brunch, lots of playing with the kids, a meal of my own and more playing. By this time another of the football games was on and it sure was exciting. Maybe there is something about a couple dozen guys beating the crap out of eachother on a gridiron. So by the end of the day I was knocked out and someone snuck in to take this rather unflattering photo.

So now on to a rather serious subject... I think I may actually be (dare I say this.. a PET!) Let me throw out my thinking here. First, I get free roam around here as long as someone is here and keeping an eye out on me. Second, there seems to be some discussions on when I will get shot (or shots that is), and when I will lose my 'privates'. OUCH!? So, today I kind of had an accident on one of the pillows on the couch. That might teach the lady around here to stop referring to me as a "rabid squirrel!"

Addictions of a not so tiny kitty

So this is my namesake. My coloring is like the very lightest color of the top of well-crafted cappuccino. The big guy around here has his own Cappuccino machine and I must say that I am not all that fond of it. It makes a lot of noise and if I happen to be on top of him when his cappuccino is empty, well this Cappuccino heads to the floor while he makes his drink. The guy seems to be rather addicted to the stuff.

Speaking of addictions... Well it didn't take much and I seem to have picked up a few of my own. So, as part of any 12 step program, I'll give you a taste of just what gets my tail in a twist.

First off is this strange white globe.

They are WAY more dense and heavy for their size and therefore make a unique play toy. I can hit it will all my strength and it won't pop, it won't dent and it will roll for really long distance on carpet or a wood floor. On the wood, this thing makes a LOT of noise. I've flipped to the catavision (TV for you humans) and seen a few soccer games. I would say that this comes as close to what I do with this object as I can see. I will assume that you guys stole this game from something we cats had thousands of years ago in Central America.

My second addiction is this very weird disc of some sort. I see them under the legs of the wood chairs around here. I can only assume they are some form of protection to prevent the floor from getting scratched by the chairs.

Today I spent about three hours swatting this thing around the floor, picking it up with my claws and generally knocking the snot out of it. Let me tell you , I am exhausted!

So, I'll head off now -- there is a kitty condo with a sky porch with my name on it. I'll stack some Z's and charge up the cute machine for when the kids are back later.

It's tough being this cute

Well it has been an exhausting couple days around here. With all the sleeping, eating, pooping and playing, it is a wonder if I have any time to get around to one of these keyboards. Playing is probably my favorite thing. On the other hand, sleeping on the big guy's lap is the bomb! It takes me a long time to wind down, but once I do, I'm gone.

This playing stuff is serious business. Yeah, I look cute, but playing is my exercise, how I sharpen my running, jumping, 'hunting', etc skills.

This is me playing with some yarn. It took me a day to decide to play with this toy, but after a few tries I got it down. I might let it survive a couple more times, then all those threads are mine.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention this... I can purr really, really loud! In fact, last night the kids could hear me through a wall. I must say that purring is a lot of fun. I can't help it some times. A good petting, and I just start purring and kneeing my big paws uncontrollably. They say I sound like a motorboat. Silly people!

I've got to head off right now. There is some urgent business I have to attend to. So, I'll leave you with a final picture of yours truly. If you think I look like I am the king of the land, you are right. This kitty has got it made and providing all the cuteness to keep the engines running.

Breaking in a new family

My ancestors were "domesticated" about 7,000 years ago. I"ll let you in on a secret. Its is the humans who have been domesticated, not us cats. I'll give you my personal example. A few days ago I was still with my mom and sisters (yep, single male in the bunch.) My mom actually showed me off to her humans. Of course it was because I was the biggest, loudest and of course cutest in the lot. Oh, back to the point... So, I was "adopted" by a new family and what do they do? Stimulate the economy! I have a new kitty condo complete with a perching platform a built in scratching post and a first floor private bedroom. (Not bad digs for a single guy.) They also got me a play gym, a few rather lame toys (I'll play with them to make the humans feel good) a cool collar and various other things. So, what do I have to do for all this? Nothing but be cute, not rip the place to shreds and purr a few times a day. Not a bad gig at all.

A cool thing about this place is that there are quite a few keyboards (musical and computer) around. So, I'll sneak onto one every once in a while and keep you posted on what is up. For now, I'll give you a picture or two.
